  1. My favorite Valentine's Day memory was one that I spent in San Diego with my hubby. We were newlyweds, and it was just a magical weekend. The weather was perfect, and we went on a boat ride around the harbor! (hobbit223@gmail.com)

  2. My favorite valentines day memory was the year my fiance and I picnicked on the beach. We packed up all sorts of good food, wood for a fire pit and some big thick blankets and had a romantic dinner by the sea :) (drsaraja@gmail.com)

  4. My favorite Valentine's Day memory was the first Valentine's Day that my now-finance and I spent together after we started dating. I was so nervous, since that was my first Valentine's Day date ever with a boyfriend! We both got dressed up and had an amazing dinner (with a champagne flight--I remember thinking that we were so grown-up!) at the Lantern Restaurant in Chapel Hill, NC. The food was amazing, and the company was even better. Now, four years later, we are planning our wedding with the fabulous Wedding Jeannie!! ;) (kimberly.kisabeth@gmail.com)

  6. I've had many great Valentine Days but the one that stands out the most was the first Valentine's Day with my fiancé(boyfriend at the time) He took me to Disneyland. We were young and didn't have much so he had been saving up for this day. We had an amazing time and I was just so happy to be spending the day with him I didn't need anything else. At the end of the night he started expressing himself then tells me he loves me for the first time. It was amazing!!! 10 years later we are tying the knot and I couldn't be happier.

  8. I'm not the romantic type, so my favorite valentine's day memory is of me, at age 19, trying to figure out if the guy I liked was actually my boyfriend or not. Being very shy, I didn't know if I should send him a valentine or keep it to myself! This was back when ecards were new and fun and made it easy to procrastinate on this sort of thing.

Well, he sent me a valentine full of x's, o's and hearts, which made me incredibly jubilant, and I sent one back, and now 11 years later we are getting married. What started off as a nebulous romance between two people hundreds of miles apart has turned into a real 'in sickness and in health, for better or for worse' case of love.

  9. My favorite valentines day was when my fiance took me out to the one **** restaurant I had been wanting to try for years. He made the night extra special with roses and champagne once we came home. It was a special nite I will always remember.

  10. My favorite Valentine's Day memory is the one we spent in Puerto Vallarta. We hired a chef to prepare a special dinner, fit for lovers, at our oceanfront villa. That's all I can share! It was awesome.

  11. My best valentines day memory was last year. My mom had just passed away 7 days prior and I was busy with funeral arrangements and the funeral itself. After everything was over my fiance surprised me with a relaxing trip to San Luis Obispo to take the edge off. On Valentine's day, I kept finding little love notes hidden everywhere... my purse, my wallet, my luggage. It seemed like everywhere I looked there was a reminder of how much he loves me.

  12. My best Valentine's Day was with my fiance last year. He remembered me telling him that I had never had a boyfriend on Valentine's Day and he went out of his way to make our Valentine's Day together truly special.

  15. My most memorable Valentine's day was when my fiance finished a hand carved 4 poster bed he made for us. He ended up hitting his head and had to go to the ER for stitches. It was a very treasured gift that was his blood, sweat, and tears.

  16. My favorite Valentine's memory is of my second Valentine's day with my now-fiance. He bought me a new teapot as a gift, and I was attempting to open the packaging after dinner and I managed to seriously injure my finger with the scissors I was using. He's a doctor, and he so expertly and tenderly cleaned and bandaged my finger that it really made me trust that he could take care of me. (lmnwedding@gmail.com)

  17. My favorite Valentine's memory is the last I spent with my best friend, Bryan. It was the year before I met my fiance and both Bryan and I were single. We got all dressed up and had the silliest night of tacky and overdone Valentine's traditions. This included his presentation of a cherry red ring pop for me to wear. Sadly, he died the next year, but it is still a treasured memory.

  19. Every Valentine's day, my fiance and I skip all the fancy, crowded restaurants and get fast food - something we never eat! It's a cute little ritual and makes the holiday more meaningful for both of us, since it's our little inside joke.

  20. One of the best Valentine's Day was one spent with both my now fiance and my good friend. The day before V-day my friend was just dumped by her boyfriend and was down in the dumps. To cheer her up on such a "coupley" day my fiance invited her out to dinner with us. After a fun dinner we dropped her off with a big smile on her face and we went home to celebrate with some chocolate strawberries and champagne. It was nice to be able to cheer up my friend but still have a wonderful Valentine's Day with the person I love.

  22. Woops! I forgot to leave my email address in my comment. So it doesn't look like I'm cheating I deleted my first comment, here it is again:
My favorite Valentine moment is this year, looking back on the all the years that I moaned and groaned as a teenager in High School who never had a date during Valentine day. In fact I never had a date any other day of the year. My first boyfriend, is now the man I am going to marry, and now I look back on those days with a smile, feeling proud that I can say that.

  23. I remember Valentine's Day back in elementary school as being one of my favorite days of the year. We would get to decorate a box anyway we liked it with our name on it. Then, we would search with our parents for the perfect cards to give all of our friends. I remember the teachers saying that everyone is loved and that we should give everyone a token of our love. My mom would come to school that day with treats and we would have a party and pass out our cards into each person's decorated box.

  24. My now-fiance and I began our relationship long-distance as I traveled for work, so we didn't get to spend Valentine's Day together. That's okay, though, because he's so good to me (and he has difficulty remembering when the holiday is, lol)... Our first Valentine's together? It was raining, and because he didn't make rsvp's, there was no place available to seat us for dinner. We ended up getting an entire BBQ joint to ourselves, and I woke the next morning with glittering hearts and rose petals everywhere... he'd picked them up while I was sleeping. He has since learned that Feb 14 is an important day for the ladies :)

  25. I met my fiance at work in July 1998 and we started dating in December. He sent me a dozen roses our first Valentine's Day as a couple in February 1999. I was thirty years and it was the first time anyone had sent me flowers. I immediately called him to say "Thank you for making me feel so special". I explained why it was such a big deal for me. Well, about an hour later I received another dozen roses from him. He called me to tell me I deserved to receive roses every day of my life! We surprised me this past Thanksgiving Day and proposed in front of both our families.

  27. My favorite Valentines memory was my first V-day (in 2009) with my soon to be husband (9/10/11) He had to work that night and I spent all day running around getting food and desserts to make for that night as a surprise. We were so bummed that we couldn't do the typical go out for a nice dinner plan since he had work, but to his surprise we ended up having the best night! I made him steak, twice baked potatoes and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. When he walked in to my apartment and saw the meal he was so touched. I almost felt like we were already a married couple, like he was coming home from a long day at the office and I was taking care of him with a nice home cooked meal! I look forward to our first valentines day together as a MARRIED couple in 2012! (lindsayajacob@gmail.com)

  28. My favorite Valentine's memory goes back to when I was a little girl. My Grandfather would always send each of my two sisters and I an 'anonymous' Valentine's greeting card. After a while we figured out that it was Grandpa, having a little fun with his three grand daughters. Two years ago, Grandpa died. I missed him terribly. While helping to go through the things at his house, I came across an old cigar box, and in it were Valentine's day cards to his girls, still signed "Your Secret Admirer". I felt such a rush of love and felt Grandpa right there with me. It was truly a beautiful moment!

  29. My fiance is a chef, so he is often cooking delicious meals for other couples on Valentine's day. Therefore, we usually celebrate the week before or after the holiday. Last year, my favorite year, we celebrated Valentine's day by taking our first vacation together. We stayed near South Padre Island in South Texas and had our very own Valentine's day on the beach. It wouldn't have mattered if it was a few days or a few months after the true holiday, I was making beautiful memories with my true love. (manley.maureen@gmail.com)

  30. My favorite Valentine's Day memory was the the first one my now fiance and I spent together in Whistler. He is an avid snowboarder, and I was a first-timer. After a day-long lesson, I was waiting at the base of the mountain for him, where we had planned on meeting. All of a sudden, I saw "some guy" on a snowboard go off one of the jumps, catching air. I thought "Wow!! That guy is really impressive!" As "that guy" continued to snowboard toward me, I suddenly realized it was MY guy who so utterly impressive. In that moment, I felt so incredibly proud to call him mine, and just knew in my heart that we were meant to be.

  31. My darling fiance and I became best friends right before Valentine's Day, and we went out (in that awkward "define the relationship" stage) that night to a really nice restaurant. He was so charming and we were so engrossed in learning about each other that it took us forever to eat! That night, I knew I wanted to marry him, and now, a year later, that's becoming a reality. :)

  32. What I loved about Valentine's Day was racing home from school to see the heart shaped box of chocolates my Dad got me. He always got me a little box and my mom a big box. He still buys me a box every year! (carriecampis@yahoo.com)

  33. My first date with my fiance was 6 years ago TODAY! We met a day after I found out my best friend from college had passed away from brain cancer. I was really down in the dumps when I met Charles. We went out on February 11th and it was the best date ever. We went to dinner. We went to a play. We talked and talked and talked. On Valentine's Day, just three days later, I walked into my office to a dozen roses from Charles. The card said "I had a great time with you. Here's to more in the future." We've had 5 great Valentine's Days since then but none as special as the first.

  35. Oh no! I just got an email from adorn today :(
My fiancee threw me the best most romantic valentine I ever had, two valentines ago. She had my sister keep me out the house, while she set up the place to surprise me. And wow was I! She changed the bed covers, had balloons everywhere and on the bed in the shape of a heart were kisses. Also on the bed was a little red box and white notes with directions. The notes told me in order what to do. 1st pop the balloons. And the scavenger hunt was on :D in each balloon (15in total) where post it notes with messages on them declaring her love for me. The second to last note on the bed had written in it "open the red box", I did and in it was a chocolate cat with a ring around it's head. The last note read "now kiss me". It was the best most elaborate surprise I've ever had. Mentiramivida6[at]yahoo[dot]com

  36. My favorite Valentines day memory was about 6 years ago when I was a senior in high school. My friends all had plans for Valentines day with their significant others and I did not have a significant other. Through odd circumstances, four of my friends found themselves at my house having a Valentines dinner of spaghetti and chatting the night away. It was so much fun having friends randomly show up at my house and have dinner with me!
